Packing for School

Almubarak is located on an island with generally a hot sunny climate, but we also have rainy and cold days in some seasons. For most of the year we tend to wear lightweight cloths, but students will also need to have some cloths to wear during winter.

During non-study hours and at the hostels, students can wear formal clothes and sandals. Parents are requested to check that all clothing is appropriate. T-shirts with logos or slogans that might cause offense should not be brought to school. Students are also not allowed to bring jewelry. It is not hard to get toiletries in Zanzibar, but students bringing their own is more advised.

A cellphone, musical instruments and devices such as tablets, iPads, and laptops are strictly not allowed

In the hostels every student is provided with a number of required materials including:

• 4 Trousers(for boys) and 4 Dresses or Skirts (for girls)
• 2 Thobes and 2 Kufis(for boys)
• 2 Abaya and 2 white hijabs (for girls)
